IN RE: WILLIAM JUMPER
IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
ORPHANS' COURT DIVISION
NO. 21-05-147
AN ALLEGED
INCAPACITATED PERSON
IN RE: PETITION TO INVADE PRINCIPAL
BEFORE OLER~ J.
ORDER OF COURT
AND NOW, this 7th day of June, 2006, upon consideration of the Petition of
IKOR, Inc., and Faith, Hope and Love Guardianship Services, Inc., to invade principal of
the estate of William Jumper, an incapacitated person, for purposes of future funeral
expenses, and it being indicated that William Jumper died on June 1, 2006, the court is
constrained to deny the petition because the authority of a court-appointed guardian to
administer an incapacitated person's estate does not appear to extend beyond the date of
the person's death. See, e.g., In re Estate of Gertrude D. Widener, 437 Pa. 294, 296, 263
A.2d 334,335 (1970); In re Frew's Estate, 340 Pa. 89,91-92,16 A.2d 26,27 (1940).
