DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOWING CRANIOTOMY
INCISION CAtU:1
1. You may shower or tub bathe, avoid allowing water on your
inoision (it the .uture. are present).
a. If your sutures have been removed, the .oalp may be gently
washed (pat dry).
3. ob..rve your inci.ion for any sign of intoction (drainage,
.welling, redness, increasing soreness) I phone the dootor
or nurse if present.
4. No wig (oontinuous wearing) for 1 week following suture
removal.
ACTIVITY I
1. HSl driving, housework, yard work until evaluated by your
dootor.
a. Have someone with you or available for you the first week
home and then aD needed.
3. Se dreDsed and about the house as tolerated.
4. Short ride. are permitted a. tolerated.
5. Restaurant dining, shopping, outside walking as weather
and your condition peraits.
6. Arrange rest times
mid-morning, mid-afternoon.
7. Avoid falls -- notify u. of inj urie. to YO\lr head.
e. Wear a hat/scarf while in ths sun (until your hair grows).
9. Sexual activity when comfortable.
10. Visiting Nurses A8soolations are available.
