datod September 8, 1995, the full-time Master has been appointed
in the above reterenoed divoroe proceedings.
A divorce oomplaint was filed on January 11, 1994,
raising grounds tor divorce of irretrievable breakdown ot tho
marriage and the ooonomic claim of equitable distribution. I
assumo that both parties are willing to consent to a divorco and
will sign and tile attidavits under Section 3301(c) ot the
Domootio Relationo Code. Ms. Hoftman has not entered hor
appoarance in tho aotion but Mr. O'Connell on the motion tor
appointment of Master indicated that she is representing tho
Detendant.

The State Employes' Retirement System (SERS) is a denned benellt pension plan. The
pllnsion benellt provided upon retirement is based upon the nnalthree-year average salary
and the years of service. An employee needs to have at lenst 10 yeBrB of servic'e to earn a
monthly pension benefit under SERS. If nn employee does not have 10 years of service and
