NOW, theret'ore, this agreement witnesseth, that the said Contractor tor and in consideration ot the eum of One Dollar ($1,00) to him in hand paid by the said Owner, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, tor himselt, and his sub-contractors, and all parties acting through or under him, covenants and agrees that no mechanics liens or claims shall be filed or maintained by him, them or any of them against the said building and the lot ot ground appurtenant thereto, tor or on account of any work done or materials furnished by him, them, or any of them under said contract, or otherwise, for, towards, in' and about the erection and construction of said building, and the said Contractor, tor himself and his sub-contractors, and others under him, hereby e~pressly waives and relinquishes the right to have, tile or maintain any mechanics liens or claims against the said building and agrees that this agreement waiving the right of lien shall be an Independent covenant, IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have hereunto set their hands and seals t~. day and year tirst above written.
