2. A Conciliation Conference was held on 20 September 1994 and the following
individuals were present: the Plaintiff and her attorney, Keith DeArmond, Esquire; the
Defendant did not appear.
3. The IIIOther appeared at the conference and, although we waited for 25 minutes,
the father never appeared. The mother's attorney showed me the green receipt card with
I which he made service of the oriqinal petition by certified mail. It bore the
signature of the Defendant's mother and was dated 30 August 1994. The Plaintiff was

. I directed the Plaintiff's attorney to prepare and file an Affidavit of Service by

4. The father apparently adMitted the paternity of the child at a recent DOIestic
Relations Office proceeding. He made 110 effort to contact my office. at the tille of
the conference or prior thereto. to report any problem attending. I can only conclude
that he was not intelested in appearing.

5. The MOther wants an order awarding her custody to avoid any disputes he tween
parties and to make clear to the father the avenue he must pursue if he wishes to
see the child. I have prepared an order which will accomplish that and which is
appropriate for the court to enter in light ot the father's failure to appear.
