1. Plaintiffs Scott and Deborah Henry are the parents and
natural guardians of Josiah Henry, a minor, and reside in Dauphin
county, Pennaylvania.
2. Defendant Mid-Island Properties, Inc. t/d/b/a Camp Hill
Shopping Center is a corporation doing business in Pennsylvania,
which at all relevant times owned, controlled, and possessed the
buildings, sidewalks, and parking areas known as the Camp Hill
Shopping Center.
3. On or about January 29, 1994, Josiah Henry arrivsd at the
Defendant's property during business hours.
4. Pla inti ff Jos iah Henry entered and eKi ted Defendant's
property at its main entrance, and on the way out, stepped off of
the curb onto a patch of icea, slipped and fell..
5. Although no snowfall or aignifiaant icy preaipitation had
ocaurred in two days, the parking lot area had not been adequately
cleared of snow and iae hazard for the benefit of its invitees,
suah as Josiah Henry, nor had it been adequately maintained to
prevent foreseeable ice hazards.

6. All of PlaintiU.' dalDaqe., a. hereinafter related, are
the direct and proxilDate result of the negligence of Defendant in
that it'
a. failed to have the parking and sidewalk are..
adequately olear~d of iae and snow for the
proteotion of its invites,
b. failed to properly salt the road and walkways to
prevent aoaumulation of ioe and refreezing of water
into iae,
c. failed to post proper and adequate warnings for the
benefit of its invitees of the hazard which the ioy
spots posed, and
d. failed to have adequate lighting available so that
patrons could see any ioe acaumulated on the
roadway.
7. All a result of Defendant's negligenoe, Josiah Henry
su.tained severe injuries, whioh include but are not limited to the
following'
a. damage to anterior cruoiate ligament, right knee,
b. displaced peripheral tear, medial meniscus, right
knee,
c. Grade IV ohondral fraoture, lateral femoral
condyle,

d. Grad. III stellate chondral fracture and post-
traumatic chondral, bUster, lateral tibial plateau,
and
.0 signitiaant internal derangement, right kn...
8. As a result of the aforementioned injuries, Josiah Henry
may in the future Busta in a loss of earnings and a diminution of
earning capacity, and alaim is made therefor.
9. As a result of the aforementioned injuries, Plaintiff.
were forced to incur medical expenses ln an effort to restcre
Josiah Henry to health, and because of the nature of his injuries,
Plaintiffs and Josiah Henry may be foraed to incur similar expense.
in the future, and claim is made therefore to the extent permitted
by law.
10. As a result of the aforementioned injuries, Josiah Henry
h.. undergone and in the future will undergo great physical and
mental pain and SUffering, great inaonvenienoe in aarrying out his
daily aotivities, loss of life's pleasures and enjoyment, and claim
is made therefor.
11. As a result of the aforementioned injuries, Josiah Henry
has been and in the future will be subject to great humiliation,
embarrassment and diSfigurement, and claim is made therefor.
