NOW THEREFORE this agreement witnesseth that the said Contractor lor and In consideration 01 one
dollar to him In hand paid by Owner, the receipt whereolls hereby acknowledged, and the lurther considera-
tions mentioned In the agreement aloresald, and Intending to be legally bound hereby,lor himself and his
sub-contractors and materialmen, and all parties acting through or under him, covenants and agrees that no
mechanics' claims or liens shall be lIIed or maintained by him, them or any 01 them against the said building
and the lot 01 ground appurtenant thereto, or any of them, lor, or on account 01 any work or materials
furnished by him, them, or any of them, under said cotract or otherwise, 10r,toward,ln or about the erection
and construction 01 the said buildings, or any 01 them, and the said Contractor, lor hlmsell and his sub-
contractors and materialmen and others under him, hereby expresslywalves and relinquishes the right to
have, lIIe or maintain any mechanic's lien or claim against the said buildings, or.any 01 them, and agrees that
this aoreRlllent wal~lng the right 01 lien shall be an Independent covenant.
