Due on Demand
On Demand, after date, the undersigned promise to pay
to the order of John E. Kauffman, III' and Loretta Kauf-
fman, the sum of S30,OOO.00, payable at Camp Hili, Pen-
nsylvania, with interest at the rate of eight (8%) per.-
cent per annum, without defalcation, for value
received.
The Note is being executed in two duplicate originals
so as to enable the holder hereto to record this Note
in more than one county. Notwithstanding said dupl i-
cate execution and/or recording, the maximum amount to
be paid by the undersigned is the sum of Thirty
Thousand and 00/100 (S30,000.00) Dollars plus interest
aforesaid.
The undersigned hereby empowers any prothonotary, clerk
or attorney of any court of record within the United
States or elsewhere, to appear for the Undersigned and,
with or without declaration, to confess judgment at any
time or times against each, any or all of the Under-
signed in favor of the holder hereof, for the above sum
plus interest thereon from the date hereof, with costs
of suit and an attorney's commission of fifteen (15%)
percent for collection. The undersigned hereby
releases all errors and expressly waives all right to
say of execution, sequestration of rents, and exemption
of any property from levy and sale of execution under
any 1 aw or rul es of court now in force or hereafter
enacted. All of the foregoing promises are the joint
and several promises of the Undersigned and shall bind
the undersigned, heirs, personal representatives, suc-
cessors and assigns. the Undersigned and all endorsers
waive protest, demand and notice of non-payment of this

WAIVER OF RIGHTS
I. the undersigned. being duly sworn according to
law. deposes and says:
A. I clearly and specifically understand that by
signing a note dated Je\\ IS" 11'\'10 . in the
amount of S30.000.00. payable to John E. Kauffman. III
and Loretta Kauffman. which contains a confession of
judgment clause:
1. We wi 11 authori ze the Credi tor to enter a
judgment against me and in its favor which will give
the Creditor a lien upon any real estate which we may
own. including our home;
2. We will give up the right to any notice or
opportunity to be heard prior to the entry of this
judgment on the records of the court;
3. We wi 11 agree that the Credi tor can enter
this judgment without any proof of nonpayment or other
default on our part;
4. We will subject all of my property. both per-
sonal property and real estate. to execution (and
Sheriff's sale). pursuant to this judgment. prior to
proof of nonpayment or default on our part;
5. We will be unable to challenge this judgment.
should the Creditor enter it. except by a proceeding to
open or strike the judgment; and such a proceeding will
result in attorney's fees and costs which we will have
to pay.
B. We know and understand that it is the Confes-
sion of Judgment clause in the above described note
which gives the Creditor the rights enumerated in sub-
paragraphs 1 through 5 of paragraph A above.
IF WE DO NOT SIGN A NOTE WHICH CONTAINS A CONFESSION OF
JUDGMENT CLAUSE. WE UNOERSTAND THAT WE WOULD HAVE THE
FOllOWING:
1. The right to have notice and an opportunity
to be heard prior to judgment;
2. The right to have the burden of proving

default rest upon the Creditor before our property can
be exposed to execution;
3. The right to avoid additional expense of
attorney's fees and costs incident to opening or strik-
ing off a confessed judgment.
C. Fully and completely understanding these
rights which we have prior to signing the above
described note; and clearly aware that these rights
will be given up, waived, relinquished, and abandoned,
if we sign the note, we nevertheless freely and volun-
tarily cboose to sign the note, our intention being to
give up, waive, relinquish and abandon our known rights
(as described in paragraph B above) and subject to the
circumstances described in paragraph A above.
