AND NOW this 8th day of November, 1995, having reviewed the IN RE: PETITION OF THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS TO OPEN BALLOT BOXES IN FIVE PRECINCTS o R D E R within PETITION OF THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS TO OPEN BALLOT BOXES IN FIVE PRECINCTS, it is ordered and directed that the County Board of Elections open the ballot boxes and recheck the tabulation of votes in Lower Mifflin Township, East Pennsboro Township - Upper Precinct, Shippensburg East Ward, Silver spring Township - First Precinct North, and Southampton Township, LoWer Precinct, It is further ordered that this Order shall be executed as soon as possible by the Director of Elections and a County employee representative of each major political party and at least one County employee who is non-partisan, under the same circumstances and procedures as the ballot boxes were opened, the votes counted, and sealed on election night. . ._1......,. ..., ',-" ..~..". .....-.-"'_.:-._; t 5 other precincts stored on that disk were precinct number 21, East pennsboro Township - Upper Precinct; precinct number 65, Shippensburg East Ward, precinct number 70, silver Spring Township - First Precinct North; and precinct number 70, Southampton, Lower Precinct. 6 The law requires the Board of Elections to reflect an accurate computation of votes cast, Therefore the Board of Elections feels a recheck of the aforesaid five precincts should be made in order to verify the accuracy of the results of the affected disk. 7 On election night, the votes were tabulated by the Board of Elections and other County staff with representation from both major political parties and others. o The Board of Elections desires to recheck the five affected precincts by opening the ballot boxes and immediately retabulating those ballots. 9 The retabulation will take place in the presence of a County employee representing both major political parties and another County employee who is registered as non-partisan. WHRRRrORI, the Cumberland County Board of Elections prays the Court to enter an Order authorizing and directing the Board of Elect.ions to immediately open the affected ballot boxes and
