Zgl;'.rla°~ :':lt^SP bpd': they are called upon to bury, served iu tlge army or navy of the United States during the late rebellion, cr any precedino a•ar, and was honorably discharged, ,led died in their tolvuship or ward, leaving insufficient -" means to defray file necessary Lurial crises ; wllereupuu, if they <E*c 5ati~[ieu ~ucil facia c~i~i, tLev suaii ' take charge of the body of such deceased soldier, sailor or ngaririe and cause it to be buried in the manner ngeutioue;l in the first section of this act, and thereupon they shall inllnediately report their actions iu the case to the County Commissioner, of their couuty, setting forth the facts ascertained b}~ them, tilgether with the name, rank and command to whiclg such deceased soldier, sailor or ngarine belonged at the time of his discharge, ,lad tlge date of his discharge, the characttir of his occupation immediately preceding his death, the date of his death and place of llis burial, and also an accurately- itemized statement of the expenses in- curred in and about such burial ; which report shall b~ duly attested by three reputable persons of full age residing in the township or ward in which such deceased soldier, sailor or marine died, kno«•ing the fact that such deceased soldier, sailor or marine died withc,ut sufhcieut means to defray the accessary burial expenses. JICCTIOS 3. It shall be the duty of the Gnmty Cuuunissioners of each county of this State, upon re- ceiving the reports and statements of expenses from their appointees under the provisions of this act, to transcribe in a book to be kept for the purpose, all the facts contained in such reports and statements, and to draw warrants upon the treasurer of their count}- for the payment of such expenses not exceeding, however, the said soul of thirty-fire dollars ou each body buried iu accord<ulce with the provisions of this act, to be paid out of the fund of the couuty, and such warraut_~ shall be glade payable to the persons appointed under tlge provisions of this act, lobo shall have buried tlge bodies for ~1~hiclg the ~•arranis are to be drawn. SBCTIOA }.
