and by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and
the Act of July 18, 1917, P. L. 1062, I have appointed and do by these presents commission him to be a
VOLUNTEER POLICE OFFICER
subject to the authority and direction of
Commanding Officer, Pennsylvania Motor Police, Turnpike Division - Bedford
He is, Therefore, To have and to hold the said office, and exercise all the powers of police officers of the
several cities, boroughs and townships of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the duration of the present
war between the United States of America and Japan, Italy and Germany, or of any war between the United
States of America and any other nation which begins during said conflict, unless this commission be sooner
revoked by the Governor.

I do solemnly swear (i) that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States,
and the Constitution of this Commonwealth; and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity;
that I have not paid or contributed, or promised to pay or contribute, either directly or indirectly, any money
or other valuable thing, to procure my appointment except for necessary and proper expenses expressly au-
thorized by law; that I will not knowingly receive, directly or indirectly, any money or other valuable thing
for the performance or non - performance of any act or duty pertaining to my office, other than the compen-
sation allowed by law.

FORE PERFORMING DUTIES. THIS COMMISSION AND OATH MUST BE FILED IN THE OFFICE OF
THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF THE COUNTY DESIGNATED AS THE PLACE WHERE THE VOLUN-
TEER POLICE OFFICER WILL PERFORM HIS DUTIES.
