With further reference to the Volunteer Police
Commission of Walter B. Kegerreis, Star Route, Shippens-
burg, mentioned in your letter of January 20, kindly be
advised this case was handled the same as those mentioned
in my letter to you dated January 19, 1943.
All the Turnpike personnel holding Volunteer
Police Commissions have been instructed, when leaving
!;he service of the Commission, to turn in their police
cards to the Turnpike Commission's Office at Harrisburg.
If there is anything faulty with this procedure, it is
suggested you contact Mr. Charles Newton, Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission, 11 North Fourth Street, Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania who acts as the forwarding agent to the
Governor's Office when these Volunteer Police resign.
I am sure Lr. newton will be glad tc help work out any
procedure consistent with the needs and requirements of
the Recorder's of the various Counties.

The Secretary of the Commonwealth is directed to note such revocation and cancellation upon the
Volunteer Police Officer docket.
The Recorder of Deeds of Cumberland County is authorized and requested
to file this Revocation and Cancellation, attached to said commission on file in his office, and to return
to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the commission card if such re-
mains attached to the commission.

1. TO THE FORMER VOLUNTEER POLTCE OFFICER WHOSE COMMISSION IS
HEREBY REVOKED AND CANCELLED.
Inasmuch as all your powers as a Volunteer Police Officer have been revoked
and cancelled by the Governor, you must surrender immediately your commission
card (Identification Card) by forwarding it to—
Governor's Office, Harrisburg, Pa.
2. TO THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OR INDUSTRY WHICH SPONSORED THE
VOLUNTEER POLICE OFFICER'S APPLICATION FOR APPOINTMENT.
Your records should indicate that the Commission of the person named on the
reverse of this form has been cancelled and revoked on the date shown. (This
copy of revocation and cancellation is for your file)
3. TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, POLICE COMMISSION, OR OTHER OFFICIAL
PERSON OR PERSONS DESIGNATED BY THE GOVERNOR ON THE CAN-
CELLED AND REVOKED COMMISSION, UNDER WHOSE DIRECTION THE
FORMER VOLUNTEER POLICE OFFICER WAS COMMISSIONED TO SERVE.
Your records should indicate that the Commission of the person named on the
reverse of this form has been cancelle3 and revoked on the date shown. (This

4. TO THE SHERIFF OF COUNTY IN WHICH THE FORMER VOLUNTEER

VOLUNTEER POLICE OFFICER
subject to the authority and direction of
Commanding Officer, Pennsylvania Motor Police - Turnpike Division - Bedford
He is, Therefore, To have and to hold the said office, and exercise all the powers of police officers of the
several cities, boroughs and townships of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the duration of the present
war between the United States of America and Japan, Italy and Germany, or of any war between the United
States of America and any other nation which begins during said conflict, unless this commission be sooner
revoked by the Governor.

FORE A PERSON AUTHORIZED BY THE LAWS OF PENNSYLVANIA TO ADMINISTER OATHS, BE-
FORE PERFORMING DUTIES. THIS COMMISSION AND OATH MUST BE FILED IN THE OFFICE OF
THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF THE COUNTY DESIGNATED AS THE PLACE WHERE THE VOLUN-
